Not every order starts as a customer filling in a calculator. A phone call for 50 hengen ylioppilasjuhlat still needs to land in your calendar and your kitchen list just as reliably.
Logging an order fast
On a phone, tap the Luo (Create) button in the tab bar and choose New private event: it opens Pikalisäys (Quick add). On desktop, tap an empty day on the calendar to open the same sheet pre-filled with that date.
Quick add asks for only what a fast order needs: Pickup or Private event type, a date (with quick chips for Today/Tomorrow and the next two days, plus Multiple days for a longer booking), a time, an optional event name, the customer, products, and guest count. Availability and Notes stay tucked under collapsible sections so they don't get in the way of a routine order. Everything else (menu tabs, images, staff) stays one tap away via Need every field? Open the full form at the bottom.
Reading the prep sheet
Open any event and go to its Valmistelulista (Prep Sheet) tab. Switch between Tuotteet (Items), the ordered products and their portion counts, and Ainesosat (Ingredients), an aggregated shopping list built from each product's recipe, grouped by category with quantities scaled to the guest count.
From there:
- Kopioi tekstinä (Copy as text): paste straight into a message or note.
- Lataa PDF (Download PDF): a printable summary with the customer, date, location, and guest count.
- Tulosta (Print): the same summary sent straight to a printer.
Scaling one recipe
On the Tuotteet (Items) view, every dish has a Skaalaa resepti (Scale recipe) button. It opens that product's ingredients with this order's portions filled in. Change the number to see the amounts for any other count, then copy or print the recipe. The same button sits on the product itself under Ainesosat / Valmistelu (Ingredients / Prep Info), and on a quote's prep sheet. CaterWay only multiplies the per-person amounts you entered. It adds no waste factor and no yield of its own.
Packing list
The Pakkauslista (Packing list) button on the prep sheet opens a page with everything to load for the event: rental items with their quantities, the dishes with their portions, and any packaging rows from the products' ingredients, multiplied by the order. Each row has a box to tick. Rental rows have a second box for when the gear comes back. Ticks are saved on the device you ticked them on, so print the list if more than one person is packing.
