Your password protects your account, but a leaked password shouldn't be enough on its own, especially with customer contact details and quote history sitting behind it.

Turning it on

  • Open Settings → Your account, it's just below Change password.
  • In the Two-factor authentication card, click Enable two-factor authentication.
  • Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, Google Authenticator, 1Password, or the iPhone Passwords app. Can't scan it? Enter the key shown under "Can't scan the code? Enter this key manually" instead.
  • Enter the 6-digit code your app shows and click Verify and enable.
Once it's on, the card shows an Enabled badge and the note "You will be asked for a code from your authenticator app when signing in."

Each team member sets this up separately for their own login, turning it on doesn't affect anyone else in your workspace.

Signing in afterward

After your email and password, you'll land on a Two-factor authentication screen asking for the 6-digit code from your app. Enter it and click Verify. Wrong account? Sign in with a different account signs you out without needing the code.

Turning it off

Click Disable in the same card, then confirm. CaterWay warns you first, "Your account will be protected by your password only." You can turn it back on any time.

Heads up

If you lose access to your authenticator app (new phone, deleted app), there's no self-serve recovery code in CaterWay, the sign-in screen only offers "Sign in with a different account." Email support@caterway.io and we'll help you get back in.
