Duplicate a product without it going live by accident

Building a summer menu from last year's winter one, or a vegan version of your bestseller, is usually faster starting from a copy.

Copying a product

Hover a product card and click Copy product. The clone gets "(copy)" appended to its name in every language, and starts as a Draft, hidden from every calculator until you publish it. Edit it, then flip its toggle on when it's ready.

Duplicating a whole category

On Products & Menu → Categories, click Duplicate category on a category card. This clones the category, its pricing tiers, and every product inside it, each with its pricing tiers, dietary tags, ingredients, and course structure carried over. Every cloned product starts as a draft too.

If duplicating would push you past your plan's product limit, CaterWay copies as many as it can and tells you how many were skipped.

Publishing and unpublishing

Each product card has a toggle next to its name:

  • On = live, visible in every calculator it's assigned to
  • Off = draft, hidden everywhere, shown with a Draft badge
Turning a live product back to draft is one click, but since it drops the product out of every calculator it's currently in, CaterWay asks you to confirm first.

Bulk actions

Select several products with their checkboxes and a Bulk Actions menu appears above the list:

  • Add to Category
  • Set Base Price
  • Set Order Quantity Limits
  • Set Icon / Image
  • Set Dietary Tags, choose to replace or add to each product's existing tags
  • Delete Selected
Handy for re-tagging twenty products as gluten-free in one pass instead of opening each one.
